It all started with a small dairy company that was founded in Wasserburg am Inn in 1887 by the great-great-grandfather of the current managing directors, Markus Bauer and Florian Bauer. Back then, it was named Bauerschweizer Käsewerk.
The company is now managed by the Bauer family in its fifth generation. In mid-2018, the management of the holding company was expanded to include another managing director. Since then, Markus Bauer and Florian Bauer have been heading the Bauer Group together with Heiko Modell. Tradition, innovation, and development have always gone hand in hand at Bauer. Thinking long-term and acting sustainably are more important than quick results. In doing so, Bauer has evolved into a high-performance group with production sites throughout Germany. From north to south or in other terms from mushrooms to fruit quark, from coconut water to "Der Große Bauer", from "Naschkatze" to barbecue sauce, from fresh salads to logistics concepts for the Bauer Frischdienst.
